    Tickets – $50 – To purchase tickets visit: http://www.pattersonpark.com

Join our hosts, Dr. Levi Watkins and Daniel Barnycz, at the beautiful, historic marble fountain for featured wine from our even partner, Chesapeake Wine Company and delicious appetizers from local restaurants and markets. Enjoy the last of spring by mingling with neighbors and fellow advocates of Patterson Park while sampling the diverse flavors invoked by the great wines selected by the fine folks at Chesapeake Wine. A silent auction will be held with donated items being offered from local artists and businesses. Acoustic performances of a variety of classics will be provided by Rob Fahey to round out the evening. Dear Friends,

In case you are not already aware, this Saturday is LiveEarth – 7 concerts on 7 continents, on 7/7/07 — to call attention internationally to the issue of Global Warming. The concert on our continent is happening in NJ. However, do not despair, smile. You can attend the concert, either in the comfort of your own home. . .

All day on the internet, thru MSN
    http://liveearth. msn.com/? GT1=10227

or 8-11 pm on tv, thru NBC

. . . .or at a neighbor’s house. Two organizations, LiveEarth and MoveOn, are hosting house parties. You just click the links below and type in your zipcode, to find a house party near you. At the MoveOn house parties, you will also be able to watch a prerecorded video of all the Presidential Candidate’s views on Climate Change, and then the next day go online and vote for which candidate’s opinion you liked the best.

    Here are the two links:

    http://friendsofliv eearth.com/ page/event/ search_simple (Live Earth, currently 38 parties listed for MD/DC/VA)

    http://pol.moveon. org/event/ events/index. html?action_ id=86&id (MoveOn, currently 23 parties listed for MD/DC/VA)

In addition, if you plan to go into DC on Saturday for the Folk Life Festival, you can go over to the National Museum of American Indians and watch the concert on huge outdoor screens.

If I sound excited, I am! Hopefully this event will have a lot of “popular” appeal and will attract a wide audience, beyond just the usual “tree huggers” like us!

    Hope you’ll tune in.

    Laurel, MD
